The production and distribution schedule for Death Rattler is four years from production to full distribution, from 2009-12.
FILMING: Fall/Winter 2009
Death Rattler will be shot on location in the United States (Manhattan; Havelock, North Carolina; Pittsburgh; Memphis; Washington, D.C.; and Annapolis, Maryland) and Vietnam (DaNang, Chu Lai, Gia Vuc) during the fall and winter of 2009. Principal photography will include interviews with Jim Hare’s Marine Corps comrades and North Vietnamese Army survivors.
POST-PRODUCTION: Winter/Spring 2010
Death Rattler will complete post-production (editing, scoring, transfer) in Los Angeles during the second half of 2010.
MARKETS & FESTIVALS: Summer/Fall 2010
Death Rattler will be submitted to major film markets (American Film Market, Independent Feature Film Market, Cannes, MIFED, Hot Docs) throughout 2010. The film will be entered in selected strategic film festivals such as Sundance, Austin’s South by Southwest and Toronto’s Hot Docs festival.
DISTRIBUTION: Winter/Spring 2010-11
The major push for national and international theatrical release will be in 2011, followed by television and home video/DVD release, with sales expected to continue through 2012.
